Our favourite walks in the countryside and along the sea
We have placed some of our favourite walks on Google maps
Seminary garden in Cuglieri
Cuglieri became an important centre for the church after 1927 when the Pope established the first theological higher education outside of Rome. It lasted until 1971, when the seminary was moved. It is a complex of buildings on the way out of Cuglieri towards Santu Lussurgiu. Behind it there is a garden that the priests used to look after. It has a sleepy magical character. You can reach it by wandering up on the left side of the seminary (Via Marconi) and taking a right across a football field behind the seminary.
Casteddu Ezzu in the Vicinity of Cuglieri
If you continue along the road up the mountain towards Santu Lussurgiu, you will see the ruins of the 12th century Castello Montiferru on top of a hill on your right. It is marked by a big cross on top of the peak, which can be seen from Cuglieri.

Farming
The village life around Cuglieri is centred around different types of agriculture and farming, especially olive oil and wine. But also animals. In Cuglieri there are truly ecological farms where for instance cows roam free the year round together with their calves and where the meat is only sold locally. In the village this is called proprio proprio farming. If you are interested we can try to arrange a visit to one of those farms.
